Christmas Celebrations!

The George Henry White Memorial Health and Education Center is becoming a home for the holidays!

A Christmas Crafts Fair was held on Saturday, Dec. 10, with beautiful handmade items on display and for sale, organized by Aarika Jacobs and Aqualla Jacobs. One local floral artist donated five Christmas wreaths for the event. While attendance was not at full capacity, the response was great, with many able to do their Christmas Shopping and patronize local craftmakers and artisans. The organizers want to do other events possibly in the Spring or later.

In other news, the Meals on Wheels program will be delivering hot holiday meals on Thursday, Dec. 15, to the nearly one hundred homes on the list. This is a collaborative effort with seven local churches, the area Community Watch program, and the GHW Center team.

Also, we are happy to report that our Networking Essentials Class is continuing the training of the students through December and into January, with classes on the 7th, 14th and 21st. Students have been gaining important skills that equip them for well-paying highly skilled jobs, thanks to the work of Instructor Keith Jacobs and the Cisco Academy.

We are amazed to see the accomplishments of so many volunteers this past year, and we look forward to some exciting programs in 2023! (We'll keep you posted!)
