Leading with Technology

With 20 years experience in Information Technology, former U.S. Army Captain Keith Jacobs of Wake Forest, NC will be providing training in Computer Networking at the George Henry White Memorial Health and Education Center, beginning in May.

A graduate of North Carolina A&T (BS, Business Administration), and North

Carolina Central University (Masters, Information Science), and with certification in education from East Carolina University, Keith also has more than 20 years experience in such companies as IBM, Grantham University, Wake Technical Community College and Johnston County Public Schools.

Professor Jacobs will teach the structure, operations and protocols that enable computers and other devices to transmit information, using physical or wireless technologies. Trainees will be able to apply these skills in professional settings, as well as in the home. The course will be on Saturdays, for 3-hours, and will include on-site instruction and remote classes. Training will require serious commitment in order to gain these professional and marketable skills.

A veteran of Desert Storm and Desert Shield, Captain Jacobs commanded an artillery battery, and continued serving in the Army Reserve as well. Now, he brings his commitment to public service to raise up those who wish to master tech skills. We are honored to welcome him to the ranks of instructors and presenters at the GHW Center.
