Reverend Jimmy Gordon has agreed to head up a substance awareness project for the George Henry White Memorial Health and Education Center.
In addition to serving as assistant pastor at the Sandy Plain Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Gordon has been a drug counselor at Whiteville's Dream Center for 9 years and an addiction counselor for three years. As a Vietnam-era veteran, whose service in the U.S. Army
was later followed by 18 years as Director of Psychology in the United States Veterans Administration, Rev. Gordon has profound experience working with those who have experienced many kinds of trauma.
Rev. Gordon will be assisted by Mr. Mike Arnold, also a drug counselor, and they will conduct programs in accordance with HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality.
The specific schedule of meeting dates and times is now in the planning stage. However, we are interested in hearing from anyone who would like to be involved in the program, in any capacity. Please send an email message to us, privately, by clicking on the link below. Or you can text a private message to 910-770-0023.
