GH White Doc in Carrboro Film Fest

North Carolina PBS producer, Mike O'Connell, has been working hard on a documentary to highlight the historic role played by Congressman George Henry White in the state, national and society at large.

We're thrilled to announce that his project, George Henry White, Searching for Freedom, is being shown this weekend at the Carrboro Film Festival.

"We're in the Saturday afternoon block of film called Stories We Should Tell which runs from 1:15pm to 3:15 pm," writes Mike, and tickets can be purchased at the website, below.

From the website's text: "Have you heard about the trailblazing civil rights leader George H. White? Neither had we, which is why this block of shorts is devoted to the stories we haven’t told enough. Sometimes painful, sometimes celebratory, these films explore universal questions of family, identity, privilege, loss, and the human search for happiness. We hope you leave this block with a new perspective on the small things in life and, of course, some new stories to tell."

The screening will be held at 300 E Main St, Carrboro, NC 27510
